WEARIN OF THE GREEN RALLY MARCH 16, 2003

The weather was as good as it gets. Dennis Sobat even cleaned up the Mustang Convertible up and brought it out. Unfortunately the winter melt down was not finished and now he gets to clean it up again. Tremendous route, tried to go into the country but the country isn’t country any more. How are we going to feed the nation if every farm field is turned into a subdivision. Where there are no subdivisions there are mega buck houses on 5-10 acre’s. Awoke Sunday morning to find a solid fog bank covering the area. My first thought was perfect conditions for the rally. Unfortunately the fog burned off by start time. The target mileage for the rally ended up being 47.7 miles. I had to end early to prevent going over the time limit of ninety minutes. Entries were a little light, but with the perfect weather I’m sure everyone was getting the yard and house in order so they would be ready for the INR National at Gingerman at the end of April.

Finishing Positions in the Non Championship Points Social Rally are as follows.

Car #2 Cindy Mann & Carol Richardson 48.0 +0.3

Car #6 David Roe & Jim Winicki 48.2 +0.5

Car #1 Karly Chnupa & Juanita Chnupa 46.2 -1.5

Car #4 David Allen & H. G. Allen 45.9 +1.8

Car #3 Dennis Sobat & Debbie Sobat 45.0 -2.7

Car #5 Mark Seaman & Bonnie Seaman 45.5 -3.2

Everyone had a great time and got to enjoy the hospitality of the Aberdeen Brewing Company afterwards. My only regret is not pelting Debbie and Dennis with snow balls at the start with their convertible top down. I must be getting old to have missed an opportunity like that. Special Thanks to Dave Chnupa for acting as Rally Safety Steward for the event. Check out the Web Site For Pictures of the event. See Ya All at the Turkey.
